Artist Statement

I am a dancer-performer-creator-explorer interested in the learning process: the articulation, reception and processing of information - kinesthetic, visual, literal, poetic, or otherwise

She graduated from the University at Buffalo with a BFA Dance, BA English, with study at the University of Chichester, UK. She holds certifications in Simonson Technique and Mat Pilates, and is currently pursuing her Comprehensive Pilates Certification through Kinected Pilates Center. When not studying or dancing- she's probably teaching pronouns or pythagorean triples.

Teaching Philosophy

Dancing should be a joy - elevating for the body, mind, spirit, and imagination.
I believe technique and creativity go best hand in hand.

All classes focus on healthy alignment, clean technique, creativity, and teamwork, as well as an understanding of the cultural/historical context of the discipline being studied. Laura strives to promote positive environments to deepen each student's dance experience, as they learn to appreciate the many possibilities of movement, and in turn the astounding potential within themselves.
